1. Agreement and Eligibility
These Terms govern access to and use of VMATIC Shield, powered and developed by Vmatic Global Technologies Private Limited. By installing, accessing or using the app, you agree to these Terms and the applicable Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. If you use the app on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that organisation where applicable.
2. What the Service Does
VMATIC Shield is intended to provide security intelligence, device and application risk indicators, contextual alerts and supporting information that may help users and authorised institutions identify potential digital-fraud risks. Available features depend on the app version, Android operating-system restrictions, device configuration, granted permissions and any enterprise integration.
The service is a risk-awareness and decision-support tool. It is not a bank, payment service provider, law-enforcement authority, emergency service, antivirus guarantee or substitute for professional security advice. It does not guarantee that all fraud, malware, scams or financial losses will be detected or prevented.
3. Permission-Based Features
Some features may require optional Android permissions or special access, such as notification access, usage access, accessibility access, display-over-other-apps or package visibility, only where implemented in the release. Before asking for access, the app should explain the relevant feature and purpose in plain language.
Permissions are used only for the disclosed feature and purposes. Granting a permission does not authorise unrelated collection or use. You can decline or revoke permissions in Android Settings; features relying on them may not work. Do not grant permissions if you do not understand why they are requested. Vmatic will not ask you to share your banking password, PIN or OTP with support.
4. User Responsibilities
You must provide accurate information where requested, keep your device and operating system reasonably updated, protect your device access, promptly review alerts, and use the service lawfully. You must not reverse engineer, interfere with, abuse, overload or attempt unauthorised access to the app or its systems; bypass security controls; or use the service to monitor another person without lawful authority and appropriate notice or consent.
5. Alerts and Recommended Actions
Alerts and risk scores are generated from available signals and rules and may be incomplete, delayed, inaccurate or unavailable. Treat an alert as information requiring judgment, not a final determination that a person, call, application or transaction is fraudulent. Verify suspicious requests independently using official contact channels. Never transfer money, install software, disclose an OTP or grant remote access solely because a caller instructs you to do so.
6. No Guarantee; Third-Party Services
Fraud techniques evolve and Android limits what an app can observe. VMATIC Shield cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability, complete detection, zero false positives or zero false negatives. Third-party operating systems, app stores, telecom operators, banks, payment applications and external services are outside Vmatic’s direct control.
7. Intellectual Property and Acceptable Use
The app, software, brand assets, documentation and related materials are owned by or licensed to Vmatic and are protected by applicable law. Subject to these Terms, you receive a limited, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use the app for its intended purpose. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
8. Suspension and Termination
We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary for security, maintenance, suspected misuse, legal compliance or protection of users. You may stop using the app and uninstall it at any time. Data deletion requests are handled under the User Data Deletion Policy and may be subject to lawful retention.
9. Liability and Indemnity
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Vmatic disclaims implied warranties and is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses arising from use or inability to use the service, reliance on an alert, third-party conduct or events outside its reasonable control. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including rights that cannot be waived under applicable consumer or other law.
Nothing in this section is intended to remove statutory remedies available to a user. Any indemnity for unlawful misuse applies only to the extent permitted by law.
10. Updates, Governing Law and Contact
We may update these Terms and will publish the revised version with an updated effective date. Material changes may require renewed acceptance. These Terms are governed by the laws of India, subject to mandatory applicable law and the jurisdiction of competent courts.
